Working closely with the Hire and Sales departments, the D& M Shipping Containers Transport team specializes in providing our comprehensive selection of cabins and containers for both private and commercial clients with worldwide delivery and installation.
Ten vehicles make up our fleet: eight self-loading lorries with six or eight wheels that are able to transport containers and cabins to different sites. We take great satisfaction in our capacity to satisfy the demands of our cherished clients by offering dependable and effective transportation solutions.
Special Cranes
Furthermore, two of our fleet’s lorries are outfitted with state-of-the-art cranes that have a greater lifting capacity, a 360-degree operating range, and an increased reach. Large site complexes and modular buildings can be set up more quickly and efficiently with the help of these specialty cranes, which are made to be delivered to locations with restricted access.
In addition, two articulated trucks without cranes that are devoted to moving containers from the ports to our headquarters for grading and inspection supplement our fleet of crane vehicles. We distinguish ourselves from the competition with this painstaking quality control step because few businesses provide such extensive procedures to guarantee the greatest levels of quality and client satisfaction.
Delivery Information
As shown in the supplied drawings, our usual process is to send out a truck that can dump the delivery to the side and at a 90-degree angle from the truck, just before the stabilizer leg. Please let us know if, however, your delivery location requires a radically different strategy. Larger cranes built for specific uses are available from us, and with the right vehicle, we can handle a variety of difficult deliveries, including offloading in front of the cab when necessary. In order to guarantee a seamless and fulfilling experience, we are dedicated to fulfilling your specific shipping requirements.
Your cabin or container can be delivered by our trucks to the side and at a 90-degree angle to the truck, immediately past the stabilizer leg.
Larger cranes in our fleet are suitable for difficult tasks such offloading in front of the cab (if this service is needed, kindly request a price).
In light of the delivery location’s height constraints, overhead impediments, and space requirements for turning corners and passing through gates, take the truck’s dimensions into consideration.
During delivery, D & M Shipping Containers has no liability for any damage to manhole or drain covers or surfaces (such as fields, pavements, or grass).
Should our car become stuck, you will be responsible for any resulting damage and recovery charges in addition to any parking or permit fees.
Delivery And Collection Questionnaire
Delivery and installation of cabins and containers, together with a questionnaire
We know how important it is to provide you with lodging or storage that satisfies your needs in a safe and effective manner. Our team will collaborate closely with your staff to navigate any site constraints and limitations and make sure the units are positioned where you need them. We promote open communication and ask that any delivery-related issues be brought up as soon as possible in order to save needless expenses for failed delivery attempts and time loss for all parties.
PDAs (personal digital assistants) that are connected to our office systems are a feature of our highly skilled and knowledgeable D & M Shipping Containers drivers. All of the pre-delivery data you provide is contained in these PDAs. After the unit is delivered, they take pictures of it and document all signatures. Because of this, we are able to keep precise records and guarantee a seamless delivery experience from beginning to end. Our first goal is making sure you’re satisfied, so we work hard to deliver first-rate service every time.
Special Vehicles
Of the thirteen vehicles in our fleet, nine are rigid six- or eight-wheel vehicles that can carry a single 32-foot load without a trailer or pairs of 24-foot units with trailers. The larger rigid trucks can be used as site cranes for safe, easy, and effective installs, transfers, or site clearing for major construction, self-storage, or modular building projects because they have front legs and 360-degree operation.
For the purpose of delivering flat-pack cabins and containers curbside in many drops, there is an extra rigid vehicle. To assist our crane fleet, we also have two Arctic tractor units with customized trailers that enable us to move cabins and containers up to 45 feet from port sites and our manufacturing facilities to clients and depots.
We also have an articulated tractor unit that can be used to haul 40-foot containers and longer cabins up to 45 feet. It is intended for single operator use in tight locations. Our varied fleet of trucks enables us to manage a broad range of delivery requirements, guaranteeing that we can successfully and efficiently fulfill each project’s particular requirements.
Site Requirements
As is customary, we will send a truck that can dump your order to the side, 90 degrees to the truck, as shown in the image that goes with it. Please let us know in advance if your delivery location necessitates a considerably different strategy. We can handle difficult deliveries since we have larger cranes for specialized uses.
The size and weight of the selected truck must be taken into account as it may affect the delivery. A truck that is too large might not fit in the allotted space, and a truck that is too small might not be able to go to the precise spot you have in mind. Please be aware of weight restrictions, soft ground, fragile manhole covers below, and heights and overhead obstacles like branches or building overhangs. Up to 6 tons can be carried by each truck wheel, which, if not taken into account, could result in damage or delays. It is your responsibility to record any concerns on your official order or online purchase. If you are unclear or have any worries, please talk about them with your sales contact first.
On Delivery Day
Our drivers will notify your site manager before they arrive so that a lifting plan may be established before work begins, including leveling the container if necessary. Please notify us in advance if any corner needs to be leveled by more than 200 millimeters. Before leaving the location, our drivers will also make sure that all doors and apertures open properly.
Using standard generic risk assessments, our delivery team is trained to do all necessary assessments for a safe installation when loading and unloading cabins and containers using truck-mounted cranes. Please consult our Health and Safety documents or speak with your contact in Hire or Sales for more details about our dedication to your health and safety.
